They promised us it would be dry and sunny today, with a light westerly breeze.
Well, it was a half truth ^_^
I did a 15 mile bike commute at 7am (sunny, just a wee drizzle when I almost got there), a 3 mile walk (sunny, a bit windy, at 5pm), then an 11 mile bike commute back, really warm by then, with a strong (head, of course) wind.
Could have been worse!

Aye would be hard to miss someone at that junction .
When you watch flyby, it makes crossing paths look close but can be several mins apart

Another agency shift cancelled at short notice :cursing: :cursing:.
Was supposed to be taking wing parts from Spirit Aero Systems at Prestwick to the Airbus factory near Chester today. 1200 start with an overnight stop involved on the return journey. Pieces all made up; changed and ready to leave the house at 1100 when the phone rings. Shift cancelled. Not for the first time by a long shot, and was actually the reason why I gave up the HGV driving a couple of years ago. It hasn't improved in the interim period and I am about to spit the dummy big style. If the weather forecast is correct, this could be an opportunity for a LEJOG . Watch this space........... :bicycle:

Did anyone else spot the inconsistency in these posts?

My father-in-law used to have the same problems until he got a full time contract and now works mornings instead of through the night, used to drive him up the wall too

My problem is that I don't want a full time contract. In HGV terms that usually means working 60+ hours per week, which as a semi retired person like myself, is way too much! I am quite happy if I get 2 or 3 shifts per week, which equates to about 20/30 hours. The downside of agency work being that you don't know where or when you are working from day to day. Some jobs you get are good; others are utter shoyt. I treat it as something to do, and I quite like the actual driving bit of it. If only we didn't have to carry freight and sit around for hours waiting to get loaded/unloaded at some God forsaken warehouse somewhere!

Yeah he works a silly amount of hours every week

Good evening everyone, been on here for a week or two now. Just got the bike to improve my fitness and shift a bit off the belly. Only two ride outs so far, the latest being yesterday where me an ma pal Richie did a lap of Loch Leven, brilliant route clockwise with only one downside being the fierce headwind on the final 3rd. Ah hope ah can bump into some of you guys here in Fife.
