Ach well, that'll be that for a while then. Back to the cold and wet; pot-holes and blind drivers tomorrow. No more warm croissants and café au lait sitting outside at 9am. Amiens and vicinity has been a hoot on the bike, 5 imperial half centuries in the last 6 days. Perfect weather for it.
I am planning to come back in the near future though, I like the sounds of that London to Paris "voie verte" route!

Not been much rain while you've been away. Maybe you should stay there. I think your avatar must be accurate.

Morning folks, I'm looking for some route advice. Thinking of cycling up to my sister's house in Perth from Motherwell area. Route I had in mind was Airdrie, Caldercruix, over into Falkirk, Clackmannanshire bridge, Dollar, Dunning then Perth. Any more details/advice would be appreciated. Hills don't bother me

Pre-Clackmannanshire Bridge I have no idea but post-bridge route sounds fine, though the Bridge-Dollar main road can be quite busy with cars - you can divert up the cycle route just after the bridge and left takes you to Clackmannan - in Clacks go right at clock, straight on at the crossroads and head for Forestmill, onto main road for approx 1/2 mile then turn left after Loganlea cafe for Aberdona, right for Dollarbeg then left for Dollar - much quieter route. After that Pool/Yetts o' Muckhart then up and over Dunning, there is a lumpier (but quieter) road they use on the Kinross sportive which takes you to Bridge of Earn.

This route will give you an idea of the Clacks to Dollar segment.

Don't forget Cafe De Fleurs in Dollar, great cafe stop - tell them Mark from DCC sent you :okay:

Thanks for that Mark. How busy is the A91 likely to be between Dollar and Muckhart? It would probably be a Sunday morning that I'd do this ride

That stretch is absolutely fine, I ride it most Saturday's after 11am with no problems - they are used to cyclists round there.

if i was wanting to be a real man, i would take the road Airdrie to Kilysth then go over the Tak, follow that road all the way to Stirling(great down hill after Carronbridge Inn) from Stirling i would head up to Dunblane and then i would take the B8033 along the back of the ochils to Braco, from there take a left then a right on to the the wee country road that takes you along the back of Glen eagles to Auchterarder, when in Auchterarder i'd take a right on to the B8062 and follow that to Kinkell bridge and then i'd take a right to onto Roman road and follow that until i had to take a left to Findo Gask, i would follow that road until i came to a cross juntion, turn right then follow that road all the way to Perth

Sounds like a good route. What kind of distance is that?
