You can't (well I can't) take it easier in the wind cause you really do move nowhere then

Well, you CAN if you are not running late! The wind just encourages a slower pace. I take your point I'm just saying if your legs are tired a slow recovery ride is more beneficial than either racing around doing more damage to your muscles or doing nothing at all.

Need to work that out. I had planned to be audaxing over NEwcastle way this weekend but the event was full before I got round to entering

Hopefully out for a long ride anyway if the weather's nice :sun:

Belles ride & shopping done, what a day :sun:and of course great company. Bit chilly to start with, Roseburn path thickly gritted so no danger of offs on ice (thank you Edinburgh council!), but frozen puddles filling some of the potholes through Dalmeny Estate :cold:... plenty of space to weave between them, so all was well
We went half way across the bridge towards Fife to the highest point, for the views, but then turned back as the experience was severely diminished by the noise & fumes off the very busy road right next to us ... and we were hungry :hungry:
The Rail Bridge cafe in South Queensferry is superb ... very tasty lentil soup with chunky bread and huge fresh fruit scones :mrpig:

Tomorrow's weather looks a bit different

Cycle path 76 is a complete joke. Thick mud path, then you enter a field, then you have to go through a 3 foot wide gap in trees. Completely unrideable.
