I cycled last weekend. Just a 28 mile round the forth . Have now ended up back feeling unwell and today was given a sick line for a week. Hoping to be well enough to ride again on Sunday though.

Decided I'm setting no targets this year, taking pressure off and just seeing where bike takes me through the year
GWS Mr Louch. I have also abandoned any thoughts of mileage targets this year on the principle that I might enjoy the cycling more without the self inflicted pressure. The recent weather and for the foreseeable future does not in any way tempt me to take to a bicycle . Wind and rain, followed by more wind, more rain.......

Not looking forward to cycling home in that wind, least it should be on my back for the second part of the 12 mile route :surrender::bicycle:

Truly guys, our Scooshy is spot on  for a change
I had to cycle today - no car, needed to go someplace not served by public transport. Would have gotten wet anyway waiting for a bus/getting to a train station. Only a 6 mile round trip, but still it had to be done.
Bet @Telemark cycled to work too!

Not today, @Pat "5mph"
Scratchy throat last night & feeling under the weather, packed the rucsac for the bus journey rather than the panniers last night . The good news is that whatever it is/was seems to be on its way out again, so will be preparing the panniers tonight.:wahhey:Sat at the front of the upper floor of the doubledecker and did my usual game of counting the cyclists to keep myself entertained.
Yesterday morning can definitely be classified under 'character-building' though , got well soaked ... it took all day to dry out stuff in my office ...
Friday looks possibly a bit too 'interesting' for my taste - 66mph crosswind gusts predicted for Penicuik around my commuting time ...:surrender:

Pretty much sums it up for me too this year, and it feels so much more enjoyable already just knowing that I haven't set any particular targets and don't really mind too much if I have to miss days here and there due to weather, or just because I fancy some time off.

My only aim is to try and get through the year injury free and maintain a reasonable level of fitness.

Wasn't too bad today, more of a cross wind for my journey to and from work. The really heavy rain was much later than expected so managed to miss a good soaking. First five day week since early October so will be knackered by the time Friday comes.
Just found out today that I,m off to Saudi Arabia at the end of February for a week, and before you ask, no I,m not cycling there. ^_^
