I couldn't believe he left his bike like that.
I strip mine down at work and that is in a secured basement with only limited access!
And he didnt exactly lock it properly either. If I were to leave my race bike somewhere, I would make sure that it is in view of CCTV, make sure the object is definately unmovable, and make sure that my lock locks both QR wheels and the frame. I then take everything which could be stolen off and put it in my rucksack.
I would even do the above with my MTB.

Awesomeness indeed!! No wonder the Paul Cromps of the world are getting upset with cyclists. They clearly think drivers should be allowed to get away with this sort of behaviour.
Got phone call from the PC this afternoon. She visited the registered owner. It was a company van. The owner was absolutely livid with the behaviour of his staff, I was told, and he said he would trace both the driver and passenger and threaten them with losing their jobs. PC said that was more than she could do. I accept all at face value and am therefore very happy with the outcome. I asked if I could know who the company was but under data protection she wasn't able to divulge the information. I asked for her line-manager's name and address and said I would drop him a line saying how pleased I was with her support, efficiency and attitude. Big up again to Met Police, Wimbledon Station.
Data protection only applies to individual citizens. Companies are dobbable:smile:
