I've got the folding Decathlon Workstand and the £50 one - the £50 is a cracker - very well built - you got a bargain there vernon.

Might look into getting one of these. Decathlon is one of my fav bike shops. It helps too by having a Hobbycraft shop close by for other half. If I ever want to go there just ask her if she wants to go to Hobbycraft and she never says no

Well Decathlon lost a sale yesterday, because the assistant advised me against buying the new tyres I was going to buy. And suggested I stick to what I already had fitted.

His English was about as good as my Spanish, none too good. But he pointed to 4 pictures above the the tyres displayed, showing the type of surface each tyre was suited for.

I actually ride over all of them, so he suggested what I had was the most suitable.

Nice one Decathlon................the only store in Spain to give service.

Nearest I've got to one was in France last year after we'd been travelling for quite some time. I figured that the missus wouldn't be too keen on looking at the bike stuff so I didn't mention it.

I've just bought a Rockrider 5.0 from Decathlon in Wednesbury, after a guy off gumtree texted me (not even phoned, the coward) halfway up the motorway to say he's selling his bike to someone else . I must say I'm really impressed by their service. As someone has said, halfords should take note.

Well, I got a set of snowblades from them. About £50 at the then rate of exchange.
After a mere 12 years of hard use they broke.
Well, I say they broke, I broke them, but they're broken all the same.
I was so cross I ordered another pair. They were great too.

The Rockrider 5.0 looks a pretty solid bike. A triple on the front, decent steel frame, decent brakes, decent saddle even, and all for under a hundred quid!

The women's cycling clothes in Decathlon are poor, though

I went there looking for a light waterproof. I walked around amazed at the prices and tried on loads of clothes and ended up buying.... a pair of socks. Every garment I tried seemed not to fit; the clear rain jacket for example looked great but was so generously cut around the waist that when I sat on a bike it hung right down in front of me and was resting on my knees.
