Been over the moon with my new Orbea Aqua what a difference bombing up hills and flying like the wind on the straight ! road shoes and pedals take some getting used to though ! will still use my hybrid ridgeback though for "pleasure rides" and little shopping runs!

Barnet,
Good evening Fifelad, welcome to road cycling. it certainly does feel good on a road bike whizzing along with less effort than a hybrid, having said that some hybrids are quick, it all depends on your legs.

Glad to hear you love your Orbea - I've been waiting over a month for mine   ! I'm beginning to wonder if I should look elsewhere, but I'd lose the deposit I paid. Did you have any problems with the manufacturer in Spain? They seem to have had a really bad day when they got my order.

You're nearly there Fifelad.

Just need the shaved legs and the tan to make you a proper roadie.

You can't be a true roadie until you're dressed in a full lycra team kit, shave places you didn't know existed, able to ignore normal cyclists not using a road bike, who say hello or morning and you don't bat an eyelid, you own the road, throw away litter as you eat while still riding, throw your used water bottles to the side of the road or at pedestrians, but most of all, know all about the latest "Must have item" and can talk for hours on the said item / items ;)

I feel your frustration ! should be here soon and youve still got at least a couple of months and more if your hardy for winter! but it is annoying waiting! I was told 3 weeks and then my local bike shop contacted Spain and remembered our Latin cousins have a month of holidays!
