Following on from the track stand thread, if you could acquire one skill you don't have already, what would it be?

The weak spot (one of many) that embarrasses me most is an inability to judge gaps. Consequently I either hold back while other cyclists pass me out, or I slow to a wobble as I approach the gap (in traffic or between obstacles) and thus make things worse than if I had approached with confidence at speed.

A faster hill climber without a doubt. All I need to be is loose between 4 and 6 stone and it will happen

To find grip, confidence, control and speed in the wet like Casey Stoner or the Doctor.

I got heavily rained on yesterday on my second ride into the hills.

Descending became an ugly theatre of a Godless man trying not to do anything that looked too much like praying while trying also not to grab at the brakes. Every too-shiny patch of tarmac became a lurking psychopath and every wet-surface skitter became a lurking, hungry shark.

I don't mind artics closing the door too soon or farmers who forget how wide their trailer is....I don't mind a bit of urban cut-and-thrust from city drivers... but on very wet roads I become a wobbly emotional wreck.

Those unwordly skills of Stoner, Rossi and pals would suit me just fine.

Ironically I came of the bike yesterday, on the flat! I rounded a corner a little too fast and skidded on a section of wet decking. My fault I ignored the advisory "Cyclists Dismount" sign. C'est La Vie

I suppose technically you did dismount!! What it should have said is "Cyclists Dismount in a Controlled Manner"

Better peddling technique, which I am of course working on, sure I am not smooth enough at the moment but can't seem to find a better way lol

The ability to climb at a far greater speed than I can currently, I hate watching my avg. speed drop as rapidly as it does.

@Bicycle - how dare you list Rossi (the greatest of all time) after Stoner (the most arrogant of all time) I'm offended on behalf of all GP fans. But yes, their ability to stay rubber side down in weather like last weekend is awesome.

Strangely enough bunny hopping is one thing I can actually do although I wouldn't like to attempt it a la Cav on my racing bike. I'd actually quite like to be able to ride without both hands on the handlesbars. Ok I can cycle one handed but my "Look Mum No Hands" cap is a bit of an in-joke now.
