I saw one roadie out in shorts and SS jersey. He may have even had mitts on! Nutcase! All other riders seemed wrapped up although perhaps less than me

I was out yesterday in a pair of tights, a long sleeve 'compression' shirt (it's too big) and a t-shirt. I saw people in coats and thought "stuff that I'd be a smelly mess", but I was very very red when I got home, probably a less than I should've worn.

As I'm up in my favourite part of the country ( north lincs), I have ridden 120 odd miles since Friday and it is without doubt the coldest I,ve cycled in, while riding along the top of the ridge towards south ferriby the wind seems to cut right through and chill you to the bone. Still wont stop me going out tomorrow though ;-)

tis a touch chilly here as well, but not enough to disuade a 55km ride this morning, clad in 1 merino wool top & a waterproof, OK I had winter cycling tights on, socks, hiking boots & a small buff + winter gloves as well - spoils the picture a touch but I try not to overdress for the cold. wait til the summer then you'll be getting the "its too warm" from me  ...

I tell myself it is not as bad as I think, it will get warmer just as soon as I get to the end of my road. Then the only way is up. Some of the early descents were a touch cold though - especially the one I got up to 55kph on... my OH did remark that he was glad he had put is tights on rather than his shorts.. somewhere around 0C here and snowing on & off yet again. dry though with little risk from ice.

Keep planning your coffee stops, spring is around the corner so a little bird tells me as it sits 1m from my open bedroom window each morning...
