Oh please do come !

Yeah, Fish's folks lived over the road, and I worked in his Dad's filling station at the weekends. Fish used to invite me over to listen to records when he was around. I even met the actual Kay Leigh one New Year !

I've had a drink with him, but that's about it. I've got an old Marillion tape at home which they put out before they got a contract. Used to go and watch them in very small clubs and Universities when they toured in the early days. They always used to play "You take the high road.." at the end and the place would go mad. ;)

I thought Emos were into self-harming. Goths don't do that as well though, do they?

Under emo, stereotypes, in wikipedia it says: "In recent years the popular media has associated emo with a stereotype that includes being emotional, sensitive, shy, introverted, or angsty. It is also associated with depression, self-injury, and suicide".

It looks like a media thing to me...emo people are probably no more or less likely to be self-harming than anyone else.

Emo is the modern equivelent of the 90's Manic Street Preachers fan.

IMO from what I glean from my eldest daughter, Emo is also a way to delineate your self from the norm without having to listen to 'scarey' music.

Goths with no guts.
