I think i'm down to a choice between these two - finally after 24 pages.......

Nope, that's down to @Accy cyclist . I have no intention of buying a carbon road bike...I have one ;) and other things to do

You quoted that poster as an example of a cracked frame, fine, but you also said that there was a long list of non warranty replacements...ironically you selected a case that had been rectified! Oops

It stilll cracked though, was that not the issue and not warranty's?
I never spoke about unresolved warranty's did I ?
I was talking about Cube rectifying the frame problem.
Or was that not clear ?
If I knew how to provide a link I would.
Commencal had the same issue, but as far as I know have fixed it by better design.
I haven't heard anything from Cube about how they have rectified it.
Do a google search, plenty of info that way.

It looks nice, especially the pink one:blush:.,but Vickster reckons the gearing isn't too great for hill climbing. Also you have to consider there are 4 colours. Meaning how long will it take me to decide which colour to choose.
It has the same gearing on the front and the rear will be determined by you. I'd imagine you'd struggle to find any road bike with a setup like 50/34 at the front and 11/32 at the rear. Most road bikes are 12/25, including that cube by the looks of it.

Erm...yes it is! Clue below
  • SRAM Rival 11 groupset, WiFLi Climber groupset
50/34 front and 11-32 rear is perfect for climbing...which is what @Kbrook was saying earlier when he offered you a try out on his bike

However, you seem to want a triple, thus need Shimano not SRAM...which you can find on that lovely Sabbath Aspire Ti from Spa ;)

So that Planet X bike would be ok for me! What colour would you go for?

Except the one you linked does!

We've fitted this build with SRAM's WiFLi 32T cassette to give you the perfect gear ratios for tackling any climb. WiFLi was pioneered by SRAM to help its pro cyclists up alpine passes and hill-top finishes in the Grand Tours. It's available to us mortals as well now, which means that the Pro Carbon gets a compact chainset and a cassette that goes all the way up to 32T! That's a huge range of gears that go down to a very small ratio so you can spin up steep climbs just like Chris Froome.

Honestly, get the Planet X. Ring the guys up and chat to them, they're extremely helpful and will point you in the right direction. I can't imagine anywhere in the uk that you'd need anymore than a 32t to climb. Even if you just plodded in the saddle, you'd get to the top in the end.

Sorry, meant to say more than an 11/32!

So DEFINITELY buy the pink or black!

It means they have a shitload of cracked frames to repair.
I'm not talking about one single case where it was replaced eventually.
I was just pointing out frame cracking on Cubes, and I happened to find one on this site.
They have not resolved the design fault which is causing it.
That's what I'm talking about
