I don't fancy buying a new bike and changing things straight away. I've just forked out another 30 quid tonight,to have the bearings and spokes sorted on that monstrosity of a bike i bought from a LBS last July. I've spent around £250 on the thing and it still gives me grief!

For me certainly, the perfect bike does not exist off the peg. I accept that I might have to change things, thus my two most expensive bikes have been specced as I want starting from the bare frame. And if I ever buy another bike, the same will apply

Yeah why not.
Start with classifieds on here and gumtree. Free ads. Make sure you have receipts and proof of ownership for potential buyers

If no joy, then eBay but factor in their fees in your asking price / reserve

That Planet X does nothing for me either, it may have a great spec but I'm not keen on it's looks at all.

I think the Ribble Gran Fondo is by far the best looking bike discussed so far (an ex colleague had one so I have seen one many times )...and you can choose the spec (even if it costs a bit more)

Not now the Planet X has been thrown into the equation. I don't mind the high viz colours and if it has better spec than the Cubes well.....

It'll be a year to the day this coming Thursday since i was knocked off my bike which has led to me getting a compo replacement bike. I don't reckon i'll have a replacement to mark the anniversary in time.
