I hazard a guess that she depends heavily on her car, judging by the amount of photos she posts of her in it.

Unlucky.
Amusingly, Larking Gowen are supposed to be tax specialists.
It's a shame they're not lawyers - they could have sued themselves on behalf of the cyclist and defended themselves on behalf of their employee.

Yes, alright, I know that wouldn't have really been the case; but, I thought it sounded good anyway

Interesting - that appears to be identical to the BBC report linked to earlier - guess it came from Reuters or similar agency.

More a BBC report lifted and slightly tinkered with by Sky.

To be fair to Sky, they have credited the cyclist's quotes to the beeb - "....he told BBC Norfolk...".

The frustrating thing is that if it gets any kind of traction in the mainstream, the story will actually become focused on social-media self-censorship and how this lass was silly for posting it, making the mistake of thinking her public tweets were for the consumption of her friends only, so has been naive, people need to understand that social media publications are actionable and blah blah blah; especially if the tabloids get onto it.

The underlying story of road safety and the attitude of some drivers will get lost and/or ignored as a) the cyclist (thankfully, and somewhat fortuitousness for Ms Way) survived and seems to be adopting a rather casual live and let live attitude (publicly at least for now) and b) the mainstream don't care to read about cycling and road safety, and would much prefer to read "Twitter Boast Gets Young Girl Nicked/Loses Her Job" or some such guff as it is sadly more "relevant" and interesting to the limbic driven public appetite that allowed Big Brother to be a success for 10 years.

You can see it coming a mile off.

This struck me during the whole Chris Huhne/Vicky Pryce trial. No one seemed to make the point that they could have avoided the whole situation if Huhne hadn't managed to accumulate all those points for speeding in the first place.... Trying to shift the points onto someone else was the big crime. Getting them in the first place almost seemed to be regarded as bad luck.

Seems like most of the comments on news sites etc are doing the usual victim blame..cyclists shouldn't be on the roads, don't pay insurance/tax, jump red lights. Are people really that stupid? Why can't we be more like the Dutch?
