Looking at potential house move and wondered if anyone had any experience of Huddersfield Train Station and what cycle facilities there are?
30 covered stands according to this: http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations_destinations/HUD.aspx
The only chap I know who goes there regularly isn't a cyclist, but he reckons the station is fine in terms of security.
A couple decent locks and you should be fine.
EDIT: There's also a Head of Steam pub in there, which is as good a reason to park your bike there as any!
I'd not leave someone elses bike there all day, let alone my own.Have you used them/know someone that does?
Would you leave a bike there all day for instance?
Looking for a bit of life experience from anyone really![]()
Seems to be OK there. Where are you taking the train to? If it's Leeds they've got CyclePoint, which is secure storage.
Not wrong with Huddersfield Station for bike storage. Great area for cycling too, if you like hills.
Just weighing up options for a house move, there's some nice stuff within cycling distance of Huddersfield Train Station so just making sure of the key things before I get serious looking.
Heheh I dont mind too much, just not after work lol Trying to find a nice, affordable house that isnt at the top of a huge hill is hard![]()
You'll struggle to find one! The town centre is effectively in a bowl. It's four and a half miles as the crow flies to my house, with a 1000 foot climb!Heheh I dont mind too much, just not after work lol Trying to find a nice, affordable house that isnt at the top of a huge hill is hard![]()
True - I'm through Huddersfield and up Holme Moss most days.
Just a thought ... you could commute by bike from Huddersfield. I do from Dewsbury to Leeds most days.
Yep! Mine's at the top of a hill, although at least I don't need to ride up it in the commute.
