Where I used to work we used to say that only programmers were allowed to state their age in Hex
I did spend about 20 years during the early part of my career as a software engineer, but that was long ago and I should have grown up and started acting my age long before now. But 40 (Hex) sounds much better than telling everyone you’re 64. 🙁

there "might" have been occasions where I "accidentally" stated it in hex
especially during times when it doesn;t include a letter - which kinda gives it away

(note - not on dating sites - although the photo I used might not have been all that recent - but my wife "found out" and said I looked pretty much the same anyway - not sure what she was after at the time!!!)

Four, 3x100mg Flecainide, 75ug vitamin D.

I was gutted that I was now having to take a daily medication for the rest of my life.
I felt a bit like that at first, it soon wears off.
Just a single multivitamin tablet a day.
Expensive pee.
How do you manage your tablets?

what age were you when you started taking them daily?
54

I have heard people saying how bad they feel about "having" to take all these tablets every day

but then you just need to look at the average age up to which people are still reasonably fit and active compared to 30-40 years ago

my wife talks about her gran - many many years ago - and how she did very little once she stopped work at 60
she was trying to persuade her to go out one time and her gran said "Look dear - you need to remember that I am an old lady now"
she was about 62

far younger than a lot of the people on the retirement thread - and try telling Mo or Welshie that they are an old lady and I want to watch!!!!

My Dad was badly injured during the war and took tablets every day - including antibiotics which would raise eyebrows in some circles

but it kept him alive until he was nearly 90 so they did pretty well!

Many sedentary people will end up the same in years to come. Many are ageing worse than their grand parents.

My official job title now is "Data Engineer". And yes, I started as a programmer, 43 years ago.

To my shame my final job title in a proper company (I changed to be a teacher) was "Senior Manager"

I was still spending most of my days looking at code and data and comms things and fiddling with screwdrivers (which I was not allowed to do but who else knew what to fiddle with!!)
but "they" decided I was no longer a "Senior Technical Specialist" but was a Senior Manager

They made me redundant a while after that - which cost them far more than my bosses boss ever let on!!!

anyway that was my life in the real world

A year ago I officially joined the old codgers list as I was put on blood pressure tablets. Still trying to find something that works that I can tolerate. Anyone else been through this? Low dose OK, but not having much effect, high dose has unpleasant side effects. So far these include, via different meds, legs feeling swollen, peeing repeatedly for several hours, feeling v tired, aching and feeling detached from the universe. Just giving up on the latest due to the last symptoms. Wot larks! As a sainted cousin of my mum's said "old age is a bugger", and I'm only just getting started. Downhill all the way. But I'm still smiling
How long your side effects last? I had very bad ankle swelling when I started Amlodipine but then after 2 months it simply disappeared and haven't came back yet.

I don't think I persisted that long after side effects started, interesting to hear your experience. Now on nothing but still high BP no doubt. Seeing GP in a few weeks to discuss. Oh well...
