Or how about a Topeak Basketcase (previously called an Aviva, but it wasn't selling) ?

If I'm taking food with me I put it in a carrier bag and wrap it around the bars. I've got a little clip to hold it in place. That way you can get rid if the bag once you've eaten the food and you don't have to lug a, empty rucksack around!

No no no, what you do is you find a nice chippy, get some chips and whatever else, and ride along no handed eating it. Its very simple.
Or, just mash up your food and add it into your drink and drink it as you go:becool:

How much food are you guys taking?? Couple of pieces of flapjack and gels go in jersey pocket and maybe a tube of fruit pastilles. Any other food from the Cake stop.

No cake stop,
no gels,
Just taking flapjack... but if I burn 1500 calories in 30 miles, that's an awful lot of flapjack to pack for a 90/100 mile ride. i'd rather not depend on a cake stop, and cramming the goodies in my jersey has so far been just plain uncomfortable.

I use a bum bag when on the roadie and that holds sufficient for eating on the move. Stopping at a garage or similar for food and drink is the other option on longer rides!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pannier - I have one of those small coolerbags into which goes a banana, sandwiches (in a plastic bag), a bottle of water that's been in the fridge overnight, a choc bar of some kind and (in summer) a small 'cool block' from the freezer to keep everything nice n' palatable.

Food is important on my rides - worth the extra weight to me to keep in in good condition.

There are all sizes of underseat wedge packs available, some are expandable/collapsable types and can take quite some nosh. I have an old Dirt-Pack one that's pretty useful. If I need more space or I'm out for a long day I use a Carradice Barley on a SQR system and then there's no need to have anything in my pockets and space for foul weatherwear.
Handlebar bags are good too especially if you intend to keep moving.
