Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
We're on holiday in North Yorkshire at the moment and it's fairly quiet up here at Runswick Bay.

It cost £1300 for a week in a 2 bedroom lodge (posh mobile home) but we did book in February after deciding there was little hope of a holiday abroad without 'issues'.

My son went to Wales on Friday night, Saturday morning for pre booked static caravan with his 3 girls and wife.
Weather forecast wasnt particually good but heyho. Days before they were due, one of his wifes charges (shes a childminder) fell ill.
They (son and family) all tested negative for covid, so decided to go.
Then found the child they'd been minding tested positive and pretty soon got a text to self isolate. So by Sunday morning, they were home.

It wasnt an expensive holiday, good weather wasnt going to be with them, they are relaxed about it and self isolating now.

He did say...what actually are the restrictions in Wales, the site was rammed to the gunnels ?

Welsh restrictions are still like we've just come out of - rule of six, masks inside places, table service etc.

The pub and restaurant rules drop on 9th August, but inside mask wearing for shops/supermarkets etc. TBH no difference for me as I've not dropped any rules as it's easier being between both countries every week.

That's cheap. Very cheap.
We charge £30 per night for a 18 month old 3 bed caravan with veranda. We only let it to family and close friends. We even include the passes for pool/bars etc which are £80pw at peak times!
My sister in law said we should give them an extra discount!
She ended up paying £640 mon-fri for the same week….but she got her Hot tub:wacko:

As long as I breathe, I attack.
My favourite holiday park wants over £900 next august for a basic 2 bed caravan with park passes, up from £815 this year which i thought was extortionate anyway .
Looks like this will be our last holiday there as i cant justify trying to save for that amount .

I rwcently sold my motorhome for more than I paid for it 4 years ago. Prices for anything remotely related to domestic holidays have gone doolally.

Had a week (3rd - 9th July) in Northumberland, in a self-catering 'cottage' (stone terrace) in a very quiet village................ quiet since it was bypassed in 1981, as the A1 ran through it!:okay:

Last October, we had a week in Scotland, 'multi-centre', self catering (bar one night)
North Queensferry (2 nights)...almost under the Forth Bridge!
Inverness (2 nights)
Isle of Skye (1)
Oban(1)

Since everywhere is rammed I have got no holiday planned apart from a visit to my son near Oban if I can get a ferry booking. That will be 3 years now with no travel any distance from home.
I could wild camp with my Peugeot Partner car but nowhere safe to keep my trike at night unless I got a back carrier attached to the car for night storage.

I have grand ambitions for abroadland.

A week (or so's) cycle touring and campung in Wales.

And another good ten days in Scotland - probs stomping about in the bigger hills as per.

Had hoped to get to mountainous Spain again this year, but that all seems a bit unlikely as things stand...

Oh well roll on 2022 .

Back from a week in a cottage Wiltshire with Mrs B. We are hoping to get away again in early September in the UK after a dive trip of mine was moved for the third time; now to May 2022.
I have a week's diving in Scapa Flow at the end of September. But that was (re)arranged in the middle of last year.

Good god. Does she know what a static costs as it is. Ground rent/insurance etc cost's us £500 a MONTH effectively (8 month season). Never mind maintenance. Hot tubs are expensive to maintain and run.
