if you got the 741 arrival, we would be at the start in perth for 830, letting us set off for 9 :bicycle:. will be a both wheels off job to get 3 bikes in

Boo! Stop doing events that I can't join in on!

There's one that gets into Bridge of Allan at 07:46
The first (realistic) train into Alloa gets in at 08:18... (I say 'realistic' because the first one gets there at 07:05!)

(If we get the train to Stirling that gets in at 07:36, there's one leaving Stirling at 07:41 that stops at Bridge of Allan - could be a bit tight if the first train runs late though?)

Ok, so @Louch I have bitten the bullet and signed up for the 50! :bicycle:

@Rasmus I had a look on scotrail, I could only see trains that get into Stirling at 07:29, 07:36 and 08:00, which could give us a little more time for putting wheels back on etc! ^_^
Oops, the 0741 I mentioned is the departure time - it actually arrives at 0729 (the Dunblane/Alloa services always wait for a while at Stirling to let the fast trains pass). The 0736 arrival is, I believe, a long-distance service and sold out for bike space like I mentioned.

Hmmm not sure what to do now, I looked at the other trains to Stirling and they don't seem to have the option of reserving a bike space at all (are they less likely to be funny about allowing bikes?)

Well, just over a week to go until this event is upon us. Not sure how much cycling to do before it. I did a 47 miler yesterday, but am wary about overdoing it next week and having nothing left in the legs for the Sportive itself. Guess a few short, easy rides (or more likely turbo sessions looking at the weather forecast!!!!) is the way to go??? Anyone any experience in these matters??

I usually continue with my usual commute but this week i've been doing a good bit more and want to do the same next week, maybe go out on thursday night for a gentle spin of around 20 miles just to keep the legs spinning, leave friday as a rest day
