Bought new in 2012 my wife’s 1.2 petrol Fiat 500 is currently on 145k, still on the original clutch and has been very reliable.

Citroen Berlingo 1.6 TD did 220, 000 miles and then sold it as found a very nice one that did 150k.
Fiat Panda 1.2 did a lot of miles and cannot recall the total at the finish, but had visited, 13 countries.
Was written off twice and still sold for 350 sobs.

I've done a little over 150,000 miles in my Saab, 95 and that's on top of the 70,000 the first three owners did. I reckon it's depreciated by a grand or more in the time I've had it, with the previous owners likely losing £30k. Luxury bangernomics at its best!

I did have a rebuilt engine fitted at about 120,000, which cost roughly what I paid for the car. It was bad luck really as an oil pipe failed, rather than it wearing out. The Mrs was a bit disappointed when I got it fixed, as she was looking forward to a smaller and easier-to-park car for our narrow street. I concede it is too big

I think many cars now are capable of serious mileage but I'd be more interested in how much it cost in repairs and long term maintenance to get it there.
Former colleagues both had high mileage cars, 200k plus but...the amount it cost was considerable, regular brake overhauls, new calipers, ABS works, suspension works, and so on. It ran to several thousand pounds one colleague calculated. But because they knew and liked the car ...didn't mind paying.
Same with a former neighbour with an 08 plate Vito van, over 300k miles. But the litany of works he'd done on it was considerable, and expensive.

I once had a Ford Escort diesel car-derived van that was pootling along nicely at 177,00 miles. Unfortunately the bodywork was falling to pieces.

My Berlingo had not had any major parts replaced so original clutch, calipers, engine etc. Possible exhaust as well. Chap who bought it off me was very pleased too as the body work was still good. Again it had been a write off.

When we sold our Honda Jazz after 10.5 years, it had close to 300,000kms on it, or around 186,000 miles in old money.
It had a 1.5 litre VTEC engine, not sure if this is the same as UK?
The AC packed up on 2 occasions, needing new parts, but otherwise trouble free.
Just as well, the engine was really shoe-horned in there, guessing it would have to be removed for any major work.

Not that much in comparison to some for my (previous) Octavia estate (1.6TDI)
Owned March 2012 (bought at 6 months old & 7,000 miles), sold in May 2021, with 160,000+ miles registered

A friend of mine is a taxi driver (‘black & whites’)
Back in the day, he bought a new Astra estate (mk3, with the 1.7 turbo-diesel, an Isuzu engine l believe?)
He run that for 370,000 miles before selling it on to a mini-cabber
He once told me that it got to about 500,000 before involvement in a RTC killed it
