Bought a Brompton to take in our van when touring a few years ago. In the end I took my CX bike with road tyres instead as it was more versatile, especially in the Alps/Pyrenees. Bought from Warlands in Oxford in 2017 (I think, might be 2018), I probably rode it for ~50 miles before we went travelling when it went in the loft, and it’s been there ever since. I need to sell to raise some funds for a new road bike. Anyway, my question, what should I be asking for it on eBay or marketplace?

I think it’s an S6L, dark blue, bog standard, not a mark on it apart from dust and cobwebs from loft storage. Anyone?

I'd expect an unmarked S6L with the obligatory Ergon grips upgrade to fetch around £850 (or up to a grand if your auction finishes on a sunny Sunday evening!) - I'd be interested myself but already have too many Bromptons!

Because they've always been highly desirable but too expensive for many folks the second hand values have always been buoyant. Combined with the fact that they've always gone up in price year on year - It used to be the case that a used Brompton in good / low mileage / well serviced condition was worth exactly what you paid for it when you bought it new from a dealer. That would be my starting point, get it listed in time for the start of the bike buying season kick-off - the first decent weather weekend nearest Easter. And then drop the price incrementally until someone bites.
