Try a Friday night group ride at night and tell me 60 bike lights twinkling under the night stars isn't simply beautiful,as you and your fellow riders make your way to the coast!

Back to the basics again....

Surely the brightness of the light needed to see the road ahead should be the same for cars as bikes when travelling at similar speeds. Why do cars need such bright lights?

This thread, and the OP's objection, is about the dazzling effect of overly bright lights worn on the head/helmet, not bike lights correctly fitted to illuminate the road ahead.

But when is a bicycle light "over bright"?

If it is the same power as a car headlight then surely that is acceptable?
