Good god no - I've only just started wearing a long sleeve top for commuting to work! We have a simple rule in our house - if you're cold put a thick jumper on, and if you're still cold, the heating goes on. No need for heating until mid-october at the earliest, I find.

WE may well be southern jessies but our location is one of the furthest removed from the warming influence on the sea in winter, hence our night time temperatures are often the lowest in the country - RAF Benson which is close to where the OP lives often records the lowest night time temperatures at this time of year.
