This thread reminds me that I forgot to get some teabags yesterday, so I can't have tea as my first brew of the day in the morning which I normally do. I have tea for the first and the last brew of the day, with about 3 coffees in between, but sadly it'll be coffee only till Monday evening as I don't go shopping on Sundays. 🧐

Rules are made for breaking. Especially when there's otherwise no tea.

As I have different hot beverages during the day I tend to use a new cup or mug each time but I will reuse a coffee mug after giving it a swill round under the tap.
Normal home consumption of hot drinks is approximately:
2 teas; lightly semi skimmed milked.
3 'proper' coffees; strong, black, no sugar.
1 instant coffee, with whole milk.
1 Hot Ribena.
Occasionally a warm milk in the evening.

A good new scouring (green*) pad works wonders, you can always tell when a scourer is on it's way out cos it won't shift the Tannin stains

A 'green scourer' not one of those sponges with a bit glued on, they're gross after a couple of days use

Way back in history I used to work at a place where we had a 10 minute tea break. Tea was made in a pot. Anyway, Fred - one of the older guys - had an absolute horror of tea poured through a strainer containing leaves. If he saw this being done he would intervene, empty the strainer back into the pot, and so the tea would be poured through a clean strainer.

People can be odd.

Plus if you’ve forgotten your Tea bags just filling with boiling water with give you a delicious brew .

I am very ecconomical with the tea bags, make a cup, drop the used tea bag into the flask so as I can keep topping up (I like weak tea) so I get 3 cups per tea bag, then when flask is empty repeat process, after a long session they can be up to 4 tea bags in the flask
I don't bother with milk (as there is never any in the workshop) but if I did I think stuff would need washed, milk goes stinky in a flask

I forgot to get some teabags yesterday. Thankfully I've bought some today. I think that not having a cup of tea since Sunday morning to when I'll have one tonight is the longest I've gone without tea since my throat cancer op' over 17 years ago. 🤔
