Have I outgrown my Charge Spoon?

I've used nowt but charge spoon saddles on my bikes for a couple of years now, but as my strength (slowly) grows the more the muscles inside my thigh (below my crotch) hurt after hard rides.

I'm starting to wonder if my Charge Spoon is now a bit wide.

Any thoughts? Recommendations for upgrades?

I have never liked the Spoon.

Saddles are quite individual, but I do get on with the narrower ones, Ritchey Streem 2, Selle Italia SLR or Fizik Arione CX work well for me. The carbon railed versions of these are also amongst the lightest saddles made.

Me
Skinny saddle= sore butt
wider saddle= chaffed thighs
The price I pay for big thighs ,so I wear a liner under my shorts = thighs can rub all day and no chaffing on skin and no pain ( 200 miles a week minimum)

I found the Charge Spoon a bit too wide and had the same ache - having just compared it with other saddles I have, it's wider about 2/3rd of the way back. A cheap saddle (£20) I get on with quite well is the Planet-X superlight.

I like Skol

A Minging Manc...
I have had mine around 2 years on the hybrid so probably covered about 6 or 7 thousand miles on it and still find it very comfy on all rides long or short. I don't wear padded shorts, just normal underwear and usually heavy cotton shorts. I like it so much I've just ordered another for my MTB re-fit

EDIT: Sorry, I realise my reply was neither useful nor relevant. What I meant to say was, I'm surprised your saddle has become uncomfortable, are you sure you haven't altered your saddle or riding position, or maybe you need to?

If you like I have a Specialised Toupe 143 (in black) that you could try to see if that is an better.

I have a Spoon on my winter bike. On the best bike I have a Fizik Arione, slightly longer and narrower than the Spoon (I find it more comfortable), as you can move forward and back on it depending if you are on the rivet or just cruising. PlanetX do a similair saddle to the Arione at a fraction of the price of a new Fizik, although I haven't tried one so can't be certain they would be as comfortable.

It may not be the saddle but rather the saddle position.
As you progress its often necessary to make a few tweeks, keeping the adjustments very small and one at a time.
Perhaps that's all it is.
I find small adjustments make a big difference.
I also have a Spoon and like it very much.
