I certainly was... Also, If I had hit the road instead of the ditch when I came off I dread to think what state my head/face would be in!

Always amuses me greatly this thread "has a helmet saved your life poll"
I'm actually absolutely in shock at the number of deceased who have contributed to this thread and stated "no a helmet did not save my life, hence why I'm deceased"
I would have thought the number would be higher, although statistics prove that one someone has experienced rigormortis they seem to stop using the internet, strange side effect but apparently true.

I've used and worn a helmet since year dot in my cycling 'emporiums' lol from a THICK lidded polystyrene job to an ultra light version.

I own 3 - getting a replacement for the Limar i cracked for £50...

I KNOW THEY WORK - due to the fact i've crashed twice and crawled off the road instead of being scooped off the tarmac - thats over a period of 25yrs.

You are a fool to not wear a helmet.

I think you are !"£$%^& *$%^head to not wear one.

You've only crashed twice in 25 years? You're either doing something right or every other cyclist I've ever met or know is doing something very wrong. What's your secret?

I KNOW THEY WORK
I've had way more than two crashes, haven't had a crash whilst wearing a helmet, yet I don't appear to be dead.
Curses, contradictory anecdotal evidence! :cursing:

[Edited because what I had written made me sound like a tryhard]

Who you calling a fool? Fool.
You haven't had the common courtesy to read the counter arguments to helmet use. But you're happy to wade in with your tiresome anecdotes and start name calling. fark you and fark your stupid helmets.
