Would it more likely mean that you are more skillful when your feet are in contact with the ground that when balancing a bike. I would bet a fair sum that if you gave anyone the choice of walking across ice or riding they would choose to walk because it is safer, not rocket science is it?[/quote

I am sure that I am more skillful at correcting my balance when on two feet rather than two wheels. I am not sure what point you are trying to make. Ice only factored into yesterday's tumble. As to it not being rocket science. .. I believe that that's Astro physics - which I don't profess to have any knowledge in whatsoever.

It's a bit more complicated than that...

Actually I'd choose to ride. A bike is a much stabler system while it's moving, and there's much more pressure on a small area of tyre, so you tend to dig in a bit further. I'd want touring tyres at least for a bit of grip - I wouldn't fancy doing it in slicks - and I'd only go in a straight line.

You would be quite right to think I have not entered any dog debates... I will steer clear as I have absolutely no view on dogs whatsoever. Although dog owners who don't clear up after their dogs should be force fed the dog eggs they have left behind!

Its another reason why modern helmet designs are a hazard

"Dog eggs" can enter through larger vents, and fill the angles caused by the snag points

This is less so on a smoouther, rounder helmet with less vents

I would certainly recommend that anyone allowing their dog to lay eggs on the pavement outside my house wears protective head wear if they don't clean it up

I had to answer with "It has spared me from injury without doubt", because the airgun pellet is still embedded deep in the polystyrene.
