Hamilton; surely he's not going to blow it again? Is he?

Well done. He did well through the season. It is really sweet to stick two fingers up at the cheats and nasties in this sport and Lewis joins the illustrious 8 other names.

No, I don't think he did slow down, you only have to look at what happened at Spa to realise the difference that wet tyres make over dry.

Or earlier in the race where McLaren pitted too late and the net beneficiaries were... oh yeah ;). The point is a bit irrelevent as had Massa won the championship it would not have been in a manner as I a motorsport fan would have liked, through cheating and dodgy help throughout the season.

If it was cycling, I'd have said McLaren paid off Toyota!

The victory is all the sweeter after Ferrari briefly thought they had won...

I'm sure the data is out there somewhere. ;)

Either way, he was lucky today, it so very nearly cost him.

Did anyone else feel cheated not to see him get crowned champion?

I was really, really hoping that the end result would have seen him on the podium with Massa and Alonso.

That would have made my year. *

* - nothing against Massa. Nice guy, feel very sorry for him etc. But Alonso is a whinging bitch.

Yes, which made his victory even sweeter. I hope some of Alonso's nastier fans are choking on their sangria tonight....;)

IMHO his only 'crime' is coming to F1 too well-formed, too smooth, too much the finished article. He's the most exciting driver out there and it's never dull when he's racing.

Glock would have gained nothing by letting Hamilton pass, apart from the possiblity of his team tearing up his contract. We have seen enough times how dry tyres are lethal on a wet track, there is nothing to question about Hamilton being so much faster on the last lap.

Pop quiz time.

You're a Brazilian.

A Brazillian needs to win the Brazilian F1 GP, and the only threat to him winning the title has to finish fifth.

This rival starts the last lap in sixth, about* 23 seconds adrift of a driver on dry tyres, and the track's wet.

The hometown hero wins the race, the next thing they see is the rival flying across the line to finish in fifth, about 5 seconds AHEAD of the bloke on dry tyres.

As a BRAZILIAN, how are you feeling now?

BTW, I am glad Hamilton won, I just (as a sporting-type person) want to see the last lap data from Glock, and also listen to any pit radio.

I am overjoyed if Hamilton won and it was a fair and square race.

If it turned out pit-lane politics had a hand in the championship, then the sport has lost out BIG TIME.

They were like that all weekend comedypilot and I expect you know it.

The sport lost out big time this year due to ferrari's cheating and meddling, just like last year it was spoiled by the spanish whinger and bully.

Fair enough CP, but there is a history of Hamilton being less than well received by rival fans and Brazil is, IIRC, a country with strong ties to Spain. And we know how well loved he is by sections of the Spanish F1 community.
I don't think any other driver would have been booed like that, whatever the situation with Massa.
