Weather is shocking today

At the speeds we are all looking at, in driving rain and the cold. If it were today I'd question making the start line

Good news is the forecast tomorrow is a bit better

Yeah I was thinking this myself. Tomorrow is scheduled to be better but with chance of rain. Deciding what clothes to wear are the new agenda (shh dont talk about it being a race). :cuppa:

It is gonna be carnage out there.
I think you could be right, if it's anything like the Blackpool ride then expect the unexpected, at least there's no traffic to worry about, just a mix of racers, mamils, inexperienced cyclists, and gb155

Just hope its not windy as it kills me

I went out last night for 10 mile loop and the first section was into the wind, so was looking forward to the return, only to be met by another head on wind

I hate the wind!

All done here, just need to attach my number to the bike, but will sort that when there as we're coming over by car and the bikes are on the roof.
Weathers given okay with a light wind, really looking forward to it now^_^

EDIT think I might pack the arm warmers and wear the 3/4's

With attitudes like this, yes, it will be carnage.

If you want to race, why don't you go and race ?

.
Wtf has 'attitude' got to do with anything?. We are trying to enlighten fellow forumites here. Regardless of how you THINK the event should be ridden there WILL be hundreds if not thousands of particpiants who will be engaging in some spirited riding in the 52 miler whether you like it or not as that is what happens in these events. I have ridden the Manchester 100 for the past 3 years and it WAS competitive no question. If you want to trundle along like an old fart then that is your prerogative.
But a lot of people enjoy riding their bikes and extending themselves physically and this sometimes means they try and ride 'fast'. As far as I am aware this is not illegal. If you can't understand this then there is something wrong with you and maybe physical exercise is not for you.
And speaking for myself I do already race competitively every weekend but thanks for your encouragement anyway.
