Now if they made a giant rocking horse, I would pay to go and see that!
Mr Pig said:It looks good in the flesh. Because it's a latticework it looks lighter and has movement as you drive past. It works very well.
The heads on top of containers just up the road don't work. From most angles they're just a mess of metal.

Imagine trying to do that now, from scratch and with no other chalk figures to set a historic precedent.....Arch said:I love that heavy horse. I love the Angel of the North too. Not sure about the mock up of thisnew thing, but will wait and see what actually transpires. I think it would be nice if it looked like it had just walked off the Bayuex tapestry.
You can't beat Uffington though.

Beardie said:Why a horse? Is Ebbsfleet particularly known for horse-breeding? It may just be visible from France, so perhaps it's to say: "You're not eating this one!". Or perhaps there's a pet food factory at Ebbsfleet.
I had to chuckle when I found that it is right on the doorstep of Kent International Airport, which means that it will have to have navigation lights on it. The mental image of red lights twinkling away at the tips of its ears is quite comical.

Flying_Monkey said:But this new proposal is just a big ****ing horse. That's all.
wafflycat said:Sorry, it's just an ugly heap of rusting metal. Never did like it.
Flying_Monkey said:Haway, pet! It has soul. It has the industrial beauty of a ship from the Wallsend yards (the last ones of which are now being demolished) or the bridges over the Tyne. It looks stunning against the blue sky of a summer day or a ice-clear winter. And for most people up here now, it says 'home' as much as those bridges. I think you've been away too long, bonny lass!
