Spot on. We were staying in St Briavels (not the Youth Hostel). Quite a climb up from the River Wye, hence stopping for a drink and rest.

A712 at Clatteringshaws Loch. I thought it looked like Galloway and this was the second place I looked after Loch Ken. (There's a very similar view near Parton.)
I've posted the 2009 streetview image as it looks rather different now...
