Hey!!!!

I'll have no time for rough trade, I've the literally heavy burden of escorting MacB from Waterloo to SS without him coming a cropper.

Night ride, big numbers, excitement, lack of experience, accidents can happen.....here's hoping that you won't be a victim of one

You gave him the trusted "Beanz meanz coinz" talk then Adrian? A latte shift...a midnight expresso...a pied-a terre white (too posh around SS)...

 very good!

I may bring a flask, just in case

Haroldslea Drive and Wallaby Road will be festooned, to keep everyone on the straight and narrow.

There shall also be Rock Cakes for some (fx: Susie puts on a sprint).

I've just fettled my tripod, so the photos shouldn't be so blurry.

(hops up and down excitedly)

Paul, what hub/cassette do you use? If it's Shimano or Sram 10 speed, I could transplant the rear wheel (it's a Mavic Aksium) from my Cayo onto your bike for the night. PM me if you need to and we'll try and sort something out.

It's just as well it didn't go 40 miles later - that's not the sort of thing you want to happen going down Reigate Hill...

A.

Cheers Mc much appreciated., it's a Shimano 9 speed. The good folks at Race Cycles in Stourbridge sorted me a cheap Shimano wheel, just hope it's up to the job.

Just had the fair Antonia on the phone making sure she was in the right road.

No.

Have I told you about the planned glow sticks to go on the BOLLARDS?
hhmmm!!!

It appears that Hall has trumped my ace of spades!

Sadly I won't see them - I'll be racing around the road route showing the mechanised convoy the way to the traffic lights.

Just to point out that the hill at which Mangaman is manning the semaphore is known as Col de An locally rather than the more mundane Coldean.

I now have the key to the public toilets in Reigate! Power beyond my wildest dreams!

My original intention was simply to head eastwards from home to be at the Mitcham Convenience in time. As it now looks likely I won't be doing the whole ride I think I'll head up to SS to catch the fun (and the coffee, thank you Adrian) and then head off with the advance party, so please look out for me.

I'll confirm later.

i think it will be pretty chilly though, it was cold on the way home from the pub last night

I agree. I think it will drop to around 10⁰ at some point, with a bit of mist. Bearing in mind I'm likely to be standing around for some time, I think I'll wear leggings tonight, for the first time in about 6 months. I'll have my mini disco laser to keep me amused as well.

Oooh! It might be stripey socks weather!

I am getting really rather excited over this being-a-signpost lark.
