As I didnt do this last year, will the regulars be staying behind at the end for drinkies?

My tour of England is in tatters right now as had some sad news so could do with staying behind for a jam jar or two..

In that case, and just for you Davy, I reckon that some will be prepared to stick around for a beer. Besides you still owe me one.

Indeed I do and alas, its highly unlikely to be in Hull now, so Brighton it is..

Brown beers all round then!

I'm guessing that a few may hang around for the odd tipple. I'll certain take part in a certain imbibingness, but can't hang around as long as I would otherwise, since I'll need to get back and feed Kai and Zev. Zev I can leave supplied with food in a timed release feeder, but Kai will have a late supper just before I leave, and otherwise will have to survive on a good supply of dry cat food, not that he'll worry too much!

As Dell says about the back of the ride "It's not going to be quick".

Only hope it'll get to Madeira before 12:49 (first of the cheaper trains*) or I'll miss my train home. A bit quicker and possible tipple or three might pass the time.

* £3.65 with railcard @ http://southernrailway.com - or does Claudine still have a stock of 49p tickets?

No beer for me unless I get there very early and bars open, I have tickets for London Double header at Twickenham starting at 2pm. If I don't get home and rested the wife will not be happy. 8.19 train to Clapham for stunning cost of £3.70 with a cycle reservation. Then Oyster card to Worcester Park for £2 ish. Oddly Southern Trains wanted £20.70 for the complete journey but it was much cheaper going to East Croydon, Clapham or Victoria seems prices go up if you change to another operators service.

Looking forward to this, particularly Ditching Beacon which I intend to cycle all the way up if it kills me!

Please wave to me as you pass me marshalling in Mitcham, I'll be on my own....

Sorry to hear the plan has gone awry.

Oh where may I find these £3.65 tickets of which you speak?

What, even if we were to move in search of decent brown beer?

No. Brown beer if it's decent. Yellow beer if it's all shite. That's what you call High Standards, that is, Adrian.

Is srw on this one? I owe him a YELLOW beer since he wussed out of Whitstable.

I vaguely seem to recall that I owe someone a beer (not sure if yellow or brown), and no, I'm not going to believe the first person to say "It was me".

It's amusing that the first three pages of the route sheet are to the halfway point, and the second half of the ride is covered in one sheet. I also like the references to the Horley Badlands, Wallabies, Vampiric Ghouls and Damp Squidgy Objects.

I take it back, there appear to be no advance tickets left for Saturday.
There are plenty Adrian. Except minimum is now £4.90 with railcard. Be careful you put in London as the destination. It costs more to get off earlier at East Croydon or Clapham Junction. Crazy but if you choose to exit at an open station thee should be little risk of a problem.

... It costs more to get off earlier at East Croydon ...

Which is kind of annoying if you need to get off at East Croydon. You can't use an Advance Ticket, because they explicitly forbid ending your trip early (you can be charged the difference that going further would save you!), and East Croydon pretty much routinely has people checking tickets.
