Could loan her my small Condor - I think it ticks all the boxes - Brooks, CHECK, Rack, CHECK, Mudguards, CHECK!

You'd have to collect from the Strand (my work) sometime in the evening and return it there on Saturday?

And if you supply a suitable saddle that could be swapped too.

I could pick it up from the Strand. Amy's dropping off her rucksack at our place, and she could then stay for tea and come up to HPC with us

(later edit) actually I could pick the Condor or SD's bike up any time and drop it back any time - I presume she'll have to come back to ours to pick up her rucksack

Not wanting to get competitive, but my suggestion to Claudine was that she could pick up mine from Paddington just before the ride.

Spoilt for choice. You lot are great . I don't know what to say, really. All sounds great from my point of view and Amy's, so I suppose whichever involves a bit less in the way of inconvenience to everyone else. Frank's plan sounds like him having to get to Paddington with two bikes so perhaps that's trickier? I can bring a saddle if needed (she doesn't do clipless either but I could bring flats too). She's ridden drops and flats happily before so any fairly sensible bike of about the right size should do it.

Choose the Condor - it'll go like the wind... and besides, the poor little bear would be able to keep Frank's other bike for the weekend. Cruelty to duffle-coated bears, Frank!

I've got a perfect route to ride back to Croydon ;-P

The A23? Lovely bit of road..

iZaP, that does kind of suggest that you don't find the existing route back to Croydon "perfect"???

After consideration, yes please Simon.

TC, I too can offer a spare bike. I would of said the Zebra would be best size, 52cm compact, but its in bits still till next year..

What leaves me with a 53cm Dawes Super Galaxy tourer or the Spesh 54cm roadie. I have spare flat pedals I can put on. The tourer does have a softer saddle, but saying that, with my firm bum, I wouldn't know if it was soft enough anyhow...

Thighs bigger than a bicycle frame? Arms longer than a bicycle frame? A classic case of Tourer's Syndrome Davy! I think it is a long way for a zebra to gallop, and what if your zebra came across a human crossing - is there any guarantee it would stop?
