Wow. Are they any good?

imho, no,
I've just given my bike a wash, like you do, wiped the bike down, and gave the rear light a wiped over, the red film started to come off?, so I nearly have two front lights?.
So I wouldn't recommend these lights, not even for a £5.00

I had mine apart, the LEDs inside are red, the film just appears to give a bit of diffusion, doesn't make a huge amount of difference

How do you find the battery life??

Sorry, never tested how Long the battery last,

My commute is 40 minutes, I run the front on low , rear on , single diode on flash other diode on constant,
I change the battery when it reaches an hour and half of use.

Also I like to add,
I have not used these lights in the rain,
It does give a warning in the burp, not to get these lights wet?.
We see!

I put the battery in a top tube bag (Topeak Tribag) - the one issue I have is with the cabling - used removable cable ties to hold it to the top bar but care is need to stop the tie (cut down as it is) from rubbing on a leg. Battery charger fooled me originally as if the battery pack is plugged in without the charger being fitted to the mains the LED glows green (implying fully charged) when it fact the battery pack does need charging; consequently they died suddenly on me one evening.

Got told a discount code for Lightriders yesterday. More than I would spend on a light myself but a cool concept. Check them out here: http://www.lightrider.co.uk/ and use 'BeHGVaware' for 10% off.

Forgot to mention the rear lamp which needs a vertical stay to attach to, my saddle bag takes up the only rear facing vertical stay, the seat post so I have it heath robinson like on the end of the luggage rack with an underneath support trying to stop it from slipping to a downward facing direction.
