Maybe if you didn't give your 'opinion' quite so often on so many subjects and just concentrated on posting up the offers, you wouldn't get the earful. Merry Christmas.

Popped in the local Giant store yesterday to have a look at the new Defy models. Impulse purchased a 2014 Defy 2 Advanced that was in the sale reduced from £1899 to £1139. That's a massive 40% off saving £760 and I couldn't resist it! Got 0% finance too :thumbsup: Giant are selling off this years models with great savings. I was very lucky!

Thanks @DCLane for posting the links. I was using my phone and couldn't get the links copied.

@david k

I have used one of these for daily commuting along unlit lanes for this winter and last winter.

It has four brightness settings and one flashy mode.

The full blast beam is rather good but one setting down is also fine for my normal 15-18mph and gives better battery life.

I use the lower settings in traffic and on streetlit roads. The flashing mode is full-blast so I don't use that.

It is USB chargeable at work or at home on mini-USB rather than the more common micro. The button flashes red when the battery is low. I can use the button wearing gloves.

I've found it very good and would buy another. The bracket's a sturdy thing too.

Another vote for the 300, bloody bright for such a small light!

Yeah, I know we are not supposed to do reviews here but one more.

I have the XP500, which is almost identical but with higher settings. I never use the top one, and rarely the 2nd highest one.

The xp500 came with a helmet attachment, which is perfect for mounting on the stem of my road bike, so I can use the standard mount on my other bike.

It was purchased from the Woolly Hat Shop, and am pleased with them. Over the three years I have owned it, I have purchased 2 extra batteries from them, for all night rides.

@mrcunning I think Giant stores have 40% off this years models they are trying to clear. I think it's luck of the draw what each store has. I was told that they distribute the stock randomly around the stores. I was lucky they had my size and model I wanted, although I wasn't actually looking to buy anything! Worth a phone call maybe....

20% off clothing, footwear and helmets at halfords, not sure for how long. And remember to check the Internet prices on their site as they are usually a good deal cheaper than the in store price, then just ask them to price match it, which they should do.

Blimey, if I make an Impulse purchase it's usually for a tin of gt85!
