A few years ago at Christmas, Threshers (may it rest in peace) tried to give everyone associated with the company a very generous discount (30% off, I think). But the vouchers were emailed, and could be printed by anyone. They went viral. A disaster, you'd think. But they increased sales by so much that it was worth the cut in profit margins, and they repeated the same exercise the next year, but openly on their website.
I think Planet X is trying the same thing: making us think we have found a crafty bargain. Hell, I nearly ordered a merino top i don't need because of the "savings". And they'll still get most of their usual sales from people who haven't heard about this.

Looks like the tyres are well over priced to start with ,Continental Grand Prix 4000s II - £45 each , can get 2 for £50 elsewhere .
I got 2 Planet X. 700c x 23 Kevlar @ approx £12 each which I think is quite cheap for decent winter tyres.
The GP's at that price are expensive, you have to be selective with your purchases.

Yep look good value for the winter bike , I was going to get the 4 contis , Dont need them till about April for summer bikes but they are to expensive even with discount .
Tiagra 10 speed cassette £10 plus discount looks good.
