I have the 800, put a small SD card in it and downloaded free maps, works a treat.

That's not what I see . They say 11 new for £166.39 then show a used price and a refurbed price .
I do wonder what else you have to buy to be able to use the unit though ? Maps ? cards ?
I'd be confident buying from Amazon. I bought a mobile phone from them that was supposed to be new, and it was obviously a return that had passed cursory inspection, however it had been open and used. There was a hair under the temporary screen cover, and a couple of outgoing calls. Amazon paid for the return without a quibble.

Ah - I was led astray by this question;
Is this a new Garmin 800 or refurnished also how long will it take to deliver it in the UK as in the product details section it says 6th September 22 days ago

Hello, Thank you for your request. If you order from us before 2:30pm you should get your product by Friday or Monday at the latest. Kind regards
For recording rides, what you get will do fine.

If you want to use the navigation features, you'll need a 4Gb MicroSD card, and OpenFietsmap for Garmin (minimally - you could buy Garmin's maps). To record cadence, heart rate &c, you'll need the cadence sensor & HRM (I think £60 ish?) which are included in the performance bundle.

Aldi cycling stuff round again on Sept 25 apparently.

Anyone got any views on the toolkit?

I could maybe do with a spare set of basic tools for another location.

You get what you pay for would be the diplomatic answer. The spoke tool was fairly hopeless. I got a few uses out of the crank puller but it now needs replacing. The chain whip has bent... It's okay to get you started but compared with Park Tools or similar it is like night and day.

If you have few tools the common consensus is that they are worth it.

Bought my 35 piece Lidl one a good 3+ years ago and have been good for 20,000 miles of repairs.
I never really knew what all the parts were until I started to need to use them.
I can agree that the chain whip is flimsy but even that still works.
