I have the opposite issue with a set of waterproof trousers (Goretex paclite cycling waterproof trousers)... I washed them, then on the re-proofing cycling the storm hit and we lost all power. They ended up trapped in the washing machine for over 12 hours in the reproofer with it setting solid on the waterproofs. I somehow don't expect them to be breathable anymore! But with any luck it will either wash out after many washes and I can try again after fixing the new holes that have appeared (fingers crossed - I can't afford to replace £100 waterproof cycling trousers even if I do also use them for my mountaineering!)You know the great altura varium deal ?
Well, washed mine last night , our washing machine has been playing up and switched from 30 to 90 degs mid cycle and I now have a jacket without taped seams and not much hi vis!!.

It was a Large although to be honest i think it was a tad to big , on reflection I think i should have gone medium. What size and colour was it? (I bought a medium and a large in black the medium fits so have a spare large with tags that I may sell)
It's a 10 at the moment, and I have all the tools to get the cassette lockring off.
I'll mull it for the rest of the day and decide later.
some of us on here miss the days of large saddle bags rather than the modern synthetic mini ones nfor a few patches, levers and maybe a very small pump
but i have found on ebay just for you the bigger ones but brand new

not all that cheap though about 55 quid cheapest!
thanks for that i did't think to look on wiggle as i was surprised to see brand new saddle bags this large still being made and soldThey seem to be around RRP in those links. Both bags are cheaper at Wiggle, for instance:
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/carradice-barley-saddle-bag/
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/carradice-super-c-saddlebag/
Some fairly cheap factory second Carradices can be had at this eBay shop, if you time it right and get lucky (check completed items to see how much things generally go for): http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/bakedbean...h=item2a37ab1103&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
I've bought from them in the past and the "defect" that made the bag a second was miniscule.
