I take it that you're talking about Halfords employees. Stuff like that is bang out of order.

You'll find there is nothing say we cant buy it. Its clearence stock, its general rubbish which not ganna lie really does not sell and will just sit there until someone does. What we cant do is use our colleague discount card for discount on top of the clearence price with the intention of selling it (Breaks the discount card T+C).

Halfords makes money from us buying it, we make money from selling it on = win win everyones happy

Nice pedals yes - I've had two pairs. But I wouldn't buy any more, even at this price. I'm pretty sure that they can't be maintained without an expensive special tool. Once the bearings go if you don't invest in that you just have to chuck the pedals. Poor design in my opinion. Pity.

If your local store doesnt have any, ask them to see if any of their local stores do, the store may be able to get them transferred between stores for you.


ALSO! When at your local halfords! The orange Clark BMX chains that are 1p. I rang up our cycle supplys today and they have about 500 at head office! Ask your local store to order them in for you.

Thank you for that - reserved a couple at Ipswich and picked them up a couple of hours ago. As you suggested, I got the PC-1051 as well! (Wiggle currently have this chain at £20 with a suggested retail price of £40)

Well after posting about the bargain mudguards at Halfords, went to pick them up and was told that it was a cock up at their end but they would honour it, drove away with my £3 mudguards.

Amazingly, a set were waiting for me this afternoon; no comment about mistaken price. However, it's the SKS on my Pompetamine that have snapped again - anyone offer experience of metal or more durable plastic 'guards for a 35mm tyre?

Are they chromoplastics? I've used them for ages and have nothing bad to say about them.
