for an extra £350 you can have CSN Superleggera XL50

Are the wheels worth the extra £350?

Apologies if already posted. Pair of Schwalbe Blizzard Sport in black 700 x 23 - £17 delivered http://www.spacycles.co.uk/order.php

Further discounts the more you buy. This is the guy that also posted the EXCELLENT video that taught me how to fit biatch tight tyres here

Gotta love the internet for info like this. When I attempted fitting a Marathon Plus I was drenched in sweat, on the brink of a heart attack and nervous breakdown and had kicked the cat, numerous times. If I had only watched this video first.... it could have saved my marriage!

Really rate these tyres - especially for the price. In over 1000 miles I can't remember one puncture.

Planet X have a Carbon Ultegra road bike for £999 and several other specials.

Looking at the spec seems to be overpriced for what it is TBH. Cheap wheels, chainset & brakes and 35mm tyres - WTF?

Misleading title IMO. It's got old Ultegra shifters, mechs, cassette & chain which Planet X probably managed to source for under £200. They won't have got those frames for any more than £200.

I'd say they are making at least £300 profit selling it at that price. This is much better value http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/CBPXKAFF2RIV/planet_x_kaffenback_2_sram_rival_road_bike

They say "No one else can offer this." Perhaps not but no one else sells a frigging road bike with 35mm tyres on it!

Jeez - my hybrid came with 37 and they were massive - but ideal for a hybrid - not a road bike.

The other thing is - it's Planet X. They have very mixed reviews - been alright with me but I have only been buying cheap lights off em. Not entirely sure I would trust them with £1000. ** This may be unfair but only based on other Internet reports of their CS.

Unlike the "big" brands of Spesh, Scott, Cannondale, Trek et al - you are going to lose £200 in resale value as soon as it is bought.

And that £200 could have bought you a decent set of wheels & chainring.

Bottom line - not as good as it appears...

I don't think you are being entirely fair - how many £1K bikes out there with Ultegra 6800? (11speed). The tyres - obviously a typo. Don't think they are available as 35mm - listed in the PX tyres section as 23mm (and in the bike configurator). Shimano R501 wheels are fitted to a whole range of brands at this sort of price point and above - to pick one at random: Cannondale 2013 Super 6 Tiagra. I think it is a pretty good deal. (No connection with PX)

edit: also think if you are going to spend £1K on a bike you should read the small print on the website very carefully, many times, and then read it again! - and contact the company if any queries. Personally I would go and check out the bike in the flesh too before buying. I did with Ribble , even though it was a 400+ mile round trip.

Well after posting about the bargain mudguards at Halfords, went to pick them up and was told that it was a cock up at their end but they would honour it, drove away with my £3 mudguards.

Anyway, I picked up my 2 pairs for £6 and was told the same story about the website cockup. I must say having tried them out I don't think I'd have been very pleased if I'd paid the full £30+ in-store price for them, but at £3 a pair they are worth every penny.

Unbelievable response, no accidents in 30 plus years, no tickets in 30 plus years, you post a light hearted comment on a forum and you get abused. Goodbye[/quoteIt's O
It seems like you thought it was OK to do by the way you talked about it, this leads me to belive you do it often but haven't got caught.

Red card has just got a warning point and his post deleted. What is it with some folk. Bad luck on the fine. Slow down next time. LOL.

Fossyant... Cheers, I have retread my post and to be fair it may seem I was being glib about it, I wasn't and I will be gutted if I get my first ever points. So apologies sincerely to all those I upset.
