I ordered and I will be disappointed if the order isn't fulfilled and I will not be using the website again if not. I would honour an error in my business so expect the same if I'm a customer.

No, I'm not a regular customer. So it's not looking hopeful for a good first impression. They could have used this mistake as a loss leader for return custom but it I don't think they've looked that far ahead considering they plan to refund all orders. Certainly not attempting to bully anyone. I'm just expected to provide a good service for my own customers so have become to expect the same as a consumer.

If he does refund the order then fine. I just feel its not a good show of service and a bit short sighted.

How far do you go though? If you advertised a £1000 item for £100 by mistake would you honour it knowing that was maybe a week or more profit gone. You all only ordered because it was a ridiculously good price, I doubt most people would have ordered or reordered at their regular prices so I can't see this as a loss leader.

You're looking for a bargain, you're not looking to develop a relationship, so let's not kid anyone on. If their biggest rival had a sale on next week you wouldn't hesitate to give them your cash.

Admittedly I wasn't looking for tyres, having recently bought a new bike but thought I'd get them whilst they were on offer. My point ref the loss leader was that if the retailer had taken the opportunity to show their level of service (delivery, packaging etc) to customers who are clearly the correct target market for their products they are likely to get return custom if their service was to a good standard. £1000 to £100 is a big hit to take I admit. But I've had to take approx £500 on products with the incorrect tickets on only this year, albeit on one order rather than multiples (teach me to not copy & paste when making price tickets) and thinking about it the customer has just ordered again from me and in this case the loss isn't so great and it could have actually been taken as an excellent piece of direct marketing. How much marketing misses the target market, a costly exercise, but we still have to do it. Anyway I have said more than my two-pence worth on this now.

We all like a bargain, hence this thread. But as I've said if their service was good I'd consider using them again. We build trust from smooth transactions and are more likely to return as a result.

No better or worse than Amazon or Play, both of whom are only too happy to cancel orders and refund monies when they discover a pricing mistake on their website. 100 tyres at a loss of £20+ per tyre? £2k is a lot to suck up on the off chance everyone will shop there again rather than using google search to find the cheapest provider.

I think you're banging your head against a brick wall trying to convince people that its a jolly bad show not to let you pull their pants down for a genuine mistake. Not one person has agreed with you , yet you still think because you messed up and took the hit so should everyone else. If I was that shop I would be chuffed you're not going to do business with them again.
