The Supersix doesn't have internal routing any more.

Last year's didn't either so that's fine. Another reason I needed to know you can still fit Di2 though :-)

A lot of money for DI2 over something like ultegra 6800 which would give you pretty much all 3 of the above!

Isn't that the same with everything. Very rarely do you buy for pure necessity. Also, law of diminishing returns, price increments increase as performance gains decrease.

Bling bling :-)

Is electronic changing actually an innovation? Does it really improve shifting? I dont think my DI2 is any better than a well set up ultegra or dura ace analogue set up and it weighs more and in my experience is more problomatic.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
As I mentioned this was just a thread about is it possible but I knew people wouldn't be able to resist :-)

Turning your logic around, why buy 105 when I'm anticipating getting a higher end frame set long term. May as well get all the components I want now, if I only upgrade to 105 in a year or so time I'll then just want to upgrade it again anyway. I know overall its usually cheaper to buy a whole new bike but this way would make it two smaller hits rather than one big outlay.

Plus, I've done some pretty long rides on my Allez, flat and hilly (including C2C in a day) and its very comfy and handles well. Part of deciding between my options will be to try my mates Tarmac with mechanical Ultegra to see how much better a carbon frame feels. If the answer is "a lot better" then I'll be going for a new bike and sacrifice electronic shifting (can't afford both straight away).

Maybe that explains some of the reasoning behind it being "an" option :-)
..... but by the time you get that new frameset all the new kit you've bought now will be old hat, obsolete, and you will 'need' to get the newest version of Dixx to go with it. If you'd bought 10 speed Ultegra 2 years ago you'd be in that position now, or 10 speed 105 a year ago. I'd bite the bullet and go for the one big outlay at some time, if you can manage it.

As I understand it the gears stay indexed for longer and the lack of mechanical cables means it stays smoother for longer whereas mechanical cables pick up dirt etc?!
