Hmmm, Hitch Hikers....

Controversial but.... I quite enjoyed it. It wasn't the original, but then none of the later versions were - the book differs from the radio, and the TV differs from both. I never expected the film to be as good as the radio/book/TV, and it wasn't, but I didn't think it was necessarily dire, for all that. TBH, I felt Douglas was milking the concept a bit by the fifth book anyway....

And there were some things I positively loved - spotting the TV Marvin in the queue at that office, for example.

So, I agree it could have been 'better' - if 'better' means more like the radio/books/TV, but I didn't hate it.

Yeah I agree with you Arch... i wasn't as offended as I'd expected to be. Liked the new marvin (and spotting the old one)... liked Mos Def as Zyphod, but hated the way his second head flipped up... Martin Freeman was a good Arthur Dent (who else could play him in this day and age?). It was always going to be a 'hollywood' version and could have a been a lot worse. Imagine Nicholas Cage as Arthur Dent!!!
