Went into my local LBS today (the excellent Pearsons in Sutton) and had a long chat and a look at the top of the range Specialized Sirrus and Trek 7.6. Nice enough bikes but not very interesting - far prefer the Trek to the Sirrus and sounds like it is better specced. However, I think I would definitely want something a bit different, not one of the big brands

...then we got talking about a bespoke build - they have a pro shop - now that could be an interesting option and presumably could be done for around a grand as I said that would be the top end budget! I am going to pop in Monday to get a shorter stem for my current Sirrus and may have a chat
