Why didn't you go for a frame that takes optical inserts, the inserts can take a higher prescription as they don't curve so much.

I don't think I'd be 100% confident in bodge jobs and a crash. Have you ever tried contacts? a safer alternative IMO

My glasses have always been shatterproof, reasonable chance gb's are as well. If not shouldn't wear them in any circumstance where they could be broken including cycling.

I've considered taking just the lenses out of an old pair and using a minute amount of adhesive just at the edge to fix just them into sports glasses. The drawback is that I seem to scratch sports glasses quickly and would have a problem reusing the lenses
