I’m thinking of cars built in China. Will they turn to the rest of the world and discount their cars as the Americans will have to pay more?

Doubt it, EU is frantically trying to stop Chinese EVs swamping their domestic market. I expect higher tariffs to try and stop or at least slow their adoption. China has some excellent brands Byd, Xpeng, Nio

EV question...

Does anyone know if any EV vans (or cars) have power take off?

I run a men's shed that is being taken for a ride for our electricity. (We are off-grid next to another charity who have solar and are thus fleecing us.

I was thinking of driving the van up plugging in the shed electrics and off we go.

We have led lights and occasional power tools so 3kw would be fine.

Kia EV6 and Hyundai ioniq 5 certainly have VTL capabilities. I’m sure others will too

Lots of manufacturers promising VTG, VTH, but I've yet to see it rolled out in the UK.

I had been on many mailing lists of companies promising VTG/H chargers in the UK , non yet

USA has it, Ford used their F150 Lightning to power homes last year.

Yep. My Ioniq 5 has a 3 pin plug.
Useful for off grid camping. But I’ve never tried it.

Having a 240V 2-3kW outlet isn't VTH/G. I mean you have minimum 7kW available power from the DC charge outlet. This is fed into a two way charger, which connects to your house to power just about everything.

A utlility in the UK ran a trial with Nissan Leaf connected back to the house and grid. There were I believe around a 100 participants. No one that I know of has rolled out these two way chargers for equipped EVs to do it.

It would be a massive benefit to owners to be able to power their houses from their own car.

I'm beginning to wonder why its being delayed:whistle:

My Kia Niro has V2L, as do the EV6 and EV9.

This is from the Kia site:
V2L lets you run your vehicle’s battery down to 20 per cent as default. Kia electric vehicles’ batteries can store a lot of energy so – if you start from a full battery – V2L will give you enough energy to power an average family home for five days. If you want to retain enough energy for your next journey, you can easily set your desired discharge limit using the vehicle’s settings

I've wondered how it'd perform ever since seeing it decimate the Goodwood hill-climb record
This is, it seems, the 'production' varient.........
55.9  :notworthy:

The fastest road car on the list was a McLaren 720S GT3X, at 1:07.2

It’s very impressive but I can’t see any real world solutions here.

It’s totally impractical for public roads. And would be very dangerous to race against other cars, as if it was hit by another car it would presumably suffer an instant loss of suction.
So it is really just a time trial vehicle.

It’s designed as a track car not for public roads.
At ~£1,000,000 each they will be a rich man’s plaything.

I concur, but as a concept of what can be done/ground effect, it's marvellous
