The price increase is the biggest concern

Take it back, it's only the launch edition which is pricey.

Also the outgoing model Y has special offers for PCP agreements at less than £300 per month.

Just out of curiosity have you a link to a new model Y at less than 300 a month PCP, less than a Mini EV the last time I looked at them.

No, It was the outgoing Model Y, not the new one.

sorry, I meant a link to a new outgoing model Y for less than £300

I can't make the online Tesla calculator adjust deposit and mileage outside previous parameters. My daughter got a long range AWD model Y six months ago with 15k mileage allowance for £349 on zero interest. A few weeks ago zero disappeared, then reappeared.

Tesla do alter the terms regularly. If you live near a Tesla showroom, maybe worth popping in to see what they can offer . That's what we did, she was lucky with timings, car model, colour and spec. All available and collected in little over two weeks from order- brand new

It's not possible at the moment. You can pay £349 p/month with a £4385 deposit, 10,000 miles yearly over 3 years on PCH.
For PCP you would need a deposit of £14,000 to pay £305p/m 10,000 miles, 0% interest over 4 years with final payment of £18,168. If you account for estimated fuel savings you could reduce the deposit to £11,000. If you only fuel on Octopus a 7p per kwh you could reduce the deposit to £8k.

Thanks both, so that’s circa £48k for a 4 year PCP

BEV is inevitable really so keeping an eye out for what is coming around the corner. We have had about 6 minis over the years (wife loves them) but could never make the maths add up for an electric one.

There are some great EV lease deals on www.leaseloco.co.uk at present

I found my Born on leaseloco, I got an amazing deal, so definitely recommend them

Leeds and back this weekend.
215 miles each way in the cold, rain and dark.
280 miles on the dashboard at the start of the journey wasn’t enough to make it all the way without stopping.
Going 70mph all the way and running the heaters and lights really chews up the power in cold rainy weather. It seems long distance winter motorways lose around 20% of the battery capacity.
Fortunately we found 175kw chargers so not much hanging around between stops, but spent over £80 in roadside charges!

It's not the heaters and lights, it's the speed and the aerodynamic loss due to the rain. You are pushing your way through wind and water and that makes a big difference to an EV.

Couldn't you get some overnight charge from destination?

If you join as membership for some networks you get a much cheaper rate for charging

The big mistake we made was not making sure the hotel had an EV charger.
From now on that will be my main priority. How can a 150 room hotel close to the motorway network not have EV chargers?

It is a prerequisite for us booking a hotel/ guest house. We must have either a destination charger or 3 pin outside socket near parking position

Ouch!
Did you manage to creep home with 20 left ‘in the tank’ 🫣
Painful though it is, dropping to 60 (or less) & following big trucks does seem to be required in winter…..£80 is like driving petrol!
Did that include the snacks purchased? The calories and extra inches on the waist might be a feature for EV driving….
