Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
So far I'm quite impressed with how it's going on Ebay. I've sold 7 or 8 items in 2 weeks, bought the postage from Ebay quick and easy and the money is showing in my account within 24 hours.

It's much better than Etsy is at the moment, that's like the Marie Celeste on that platform and the fees are god awful. I can see a lot of people leaving Etsy for Ebay

If I understand it correctly then although Selling Fees have been scrapped, Final Value Fees still apply so I still pay eBay something for each sale rather than each listing.

The trouble with the change is that "paying to list" does encourage sellers to only list vaguely worthwhile stuff and to not put stuff on at stupidly high prices.

You don't have to buy the vaguely worthwhile or high priced stuff. Changing the fees has encouraged me to list a fair few more things, sold some of them too :okay:

Yebbut it does make browsing more or less unworkable, and even regular searches get cluttered up with people who think their
old praktica is worth £500 and keep on relisting it

Presimably an automatic 8% added onto the price the seller quotes. So instead of say £4.99s expect to see £5.39s

I understand, well I won't be lowering my price by 8% to accomodate that. Its a pity that the alternatives to ebay (Gumtree, FB Marketplace) I know of just don't offer the same all in one solution that eBay does for selling.
