Yes, I didn't see that thread. Oh well, not the worst mistake I've made in my life^_^

easy to mistake the hard shoulder for a cycle lane... Another reason cycle lanes should be abolished ... They lead to situations like this. LOL

it's a genuine mistake ... Obviously this guy has never read the highway code, same as most cyclists who don't drive. He could even be foreign.

So that makes it OK for all road users to disregard the law?

No,but it puts things in perspective?

Everything is wrong with that. The guy is an idiot to ride on the motorway as:
1. it is illegal.
2. cars are passing him at speed of 70 + mph. If one hits him, he's dead. His helmet won't make any difference.
The police was right to tell him off and escort him off the motorway.

So what's wrong with this? The guy is wearing a helmet. Police are too fussy sometimes, should be out catching REAL villains!

I assume this post is tongue in cheek? Surely?

If not...... He only got a "ticking off" and escorted off the motorway, when he had committed an offence for which he could have been fined. So the Police did the common sense thing and still get criticised?

"The guy is wearing a helmet" ...... *groan*

I'll assume this is joke of course - but if not, well the idiot deserved all he got. I have seen the results of a human being struck on the hard shoulder of a motorway and he ended up needing two seperate tarps to cover the mess before the ambulence crew could scrap the remains off the road. Still I suppose they could use the helmet to collect the soggy bits in.
