How's Dry January going everyone?

Given this Jan is a lot more boring than previous years I have fancied a drink occasionally, just to relieve the tedium. But I've not succumbed. Not a midweek drinker but I'm gonna have a couple of "house measure" VATs on Monday

Not quite a dry month. 2 bottles of cider consumed which were a surprise gift from my neighbour for fetching her shopping for the last 10 months or so.

I fell off the wagon when the Doc called about the chest x-ray. But otherwise mostly OK. I did miss it though which is worrying. Still, 3 weeks is better than none.....
Veganuary is going well though :-)

I missed it more than the previous 25 years or so that I've done Dry January. I'll put that down to the tedium and general Groundhog Day-ness of my existence atm. Really just a way to give myself a small treat. Leftover Xmas choccies instead I'm afraid.

For beer I have Erdinger 0
Is that different to Erdinger Alkoholfrei which has to say in the small print that it doesn't qualify as alcohol-free under UK law?

I don’t drink much anyway but lI’ve a G&T. I have 0% alcohol’not gin’, it’s great.
Is that Stryyk? If so, what garnishes/servings have you found to work, if you don't mind? I'm kicking myself after forgetting to buy a grapefruit at market today, which I've read is good with it.

Still not doing dryanuary for reasons previously given but also this year's two crises. Still don't drink alcohol every day.

I drink very little - I might imbibe moderately heavily on christmas day or my birthday, but as Mrs D's primary carer I need to be on top of my game so rarely sup putside of that.

As a well adjusted adult blessed with a will of iron, I don't fel the need to do this dry January malarkey. 98% of people who go on a diet weigh more after 5 years than when they started, and I am pretty sure it is much the same with drinking. If its getting a bit much either learn to be genuinely moderate, or stop for good. Having a month off does chuff all if the next month reverts to business as usual.

So you come on the Dry January thread to tell everyone that you don't do Dry January and chuck in a bit of cod psychology on the side. Great. Thanks.

My normal regime these days is not drinking from Sunday night til Friday evening.

I have a similar regime, except, I have a Wednesday evening top up ;)

Yesterday, I had to visit my GP Surgery for an Annual "Medication Review".

Inevitably, I was asked "how much alcohol do you drink". Because Covid has put a stop to pub visits, I was able to answer quickly and (more or less) truthfully "two bottles of Red Wine per week". The Practice Nurse then asked "shared with your wife?", "definitely not" I replied. I think I may have "failed". ;)
